FYI is a program to help youth learn more about personal finances, entrepreneurship and professional development; each of which acts as a hub for four sessions. Each of the twelve sessions consist of a 20-minute, lecture style presentation where participants are encouraged to take notes and ask questions. After the information portion, participants apply their new knowledge to a fun, interactive activity related to the specific session. Participants gain necessary life skills, learning all about marketing, budgeting, resumé writing and more. The program is delivered by peers in a relaxed environment, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and participate on a friendly level.

New this year is a three-year $45,000 partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union. After holding focus groups with FYI students, SIFE Memorial will launch a financial planning mobile app this Fall.
