In 2008, SIFE Memorial formed a three-year, $45,000 partnership with Scotiabank to create FLAGS (Financial Literacy Awareness and Goals for Seniors). This program is composed of four interactive sessions: Personal Financial Knowledge, Legal Issues, Fraud and Identity Theft, and Energy Efficiency.  To give FLAGS a national reach we created the train-the-trainer program, where we teach Scotiabank volunteers how to run FLAGS independently in their own communities. Just this year, Scotiabank adopted FLAGS as one of its corporate program, providing a sustainable  solution to financial educational gaps to citizens nationwide.
